• Follow the leader’s instructions at all times and do not detach yourself from the group.
• Check the weather forecast, but be prepared for all types of weather as the mountains are often unpredictable.
• Take out insurance in case of accidents.
• Do a mountain skills course and learn how to read a map and use a compass.
