We have one walk on Sunday, a ‘B’ grade walk. The ‘B’ Walks are at an intermediate level and for those who already have some hillwalking experience and are generally up to about 15 km in length and about 6 hours in duration. The pace is fairly relaxed, there will be two stops for a bite to eat, plus there’ll be plenty of time to look around and to take a breather and/or admire the scenery now and then.
The walks are held most Sundays throughout the year. On the 1st Sunday of each month (other than bank holiday weekends) new walkers are welcome to walk with us.
We meet outside Bray Dart Station ready for a 10.30am departure.
You will need a reasonable level of fitness, as most walking will be along established forest and mountain tracks, as well as on open ground that can be steep, rocky and uneven. Conditions on the hills are often wet and muddy, so you are required to have the equipment as set out on the Equipment page, especially proper walking boots which must be sturdy, with proper ankle support and a non-slip rigid sole.
Participation in a walk is at the walk leader’s discretion.
All walkers should be aware that you have a risk of personal injury or even death. By walking with us, you are aware of and shall accept these risks. You are acknowledging that you are participating on a voluntary basis and that you shall be responsible for your own personal safety. You do not enjoy personal accident insurance while walking with us and therefore it is strongly recommend that you take out your own personal accidence insurance cover.
