This year we again held our annual fundraising collection for the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, and managed to surpass ourselves again by collecting a grand total of €1,000!! Above is a photo of Alun Saunders from the Bray Strollers handing over the cheque to Sheelagh O’Malley of the Glen of Imaal MRT after a rather wet and windy SARDA training session. And yes, that is the car park of Lynham’s pub in Laragh!
Please note that during the winter, i.e. when Daylight Savings Time is no longer active, the Saturday ‘A’ walks will now meet at 9.00am instead of 9.30am.
Please note that effective immediately, the Tuesday ‘A’ walks will meet in the main car park of the Glenview Hotel off J9 of the N11 at 9.50, and no longer at Pluck’s Pub in Kilmacanoge.
Every year we hold a collection for the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team, and 2015 was no exception. However, partly due to some of our members knitting some rather snazzy hats and selling them to raise funds, we managed to collect the amazing sum of €950!
Above is a picture of Alun Saunders presenting the cheque to two members of the Glen team.
Well, this year was another big success for our annual collection for the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue team, where we also collected the princely sum of €750! The cheque was handed over to Derry Cullen, the new Team Leader on Saturday 31st January at their base in Laragh.
We managed to collect a grand total of €750 in aid of the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue team this year. Thank you to to everyone for being so generous, it is much appreciated by the team, who will no doubt put it to good use.
After many years of promising a makeover for the club website, here’s my first attempt.
As you can see, I’ve chosen to use WordPress as the platform, which hopefully should look a bit more modern and fresh, and more importantly will make it easier for me to update and keep up-to-date.
I hope in the future to add features that will increase the amount of interaction with existing members, as well as maintaining it as a place for information on the club for new members.
